Amanda, for your adoption or a nonprofit event?

Some things to try are the obvious like a garage sale, my husband collects aluminum cans to recycle (he feels like he is doing something!) recycling printer cartridges and old cell phones, Dominoes and Pizza Hut both have fundraising cards that cost the buyer $10 and you the seller get to keep I think $6 of that money. There are also things like doing a cookbook, there are several sites online to do that morriscookbooks.com is just one. There is also a website that has links to other sites and has other fundraising ideas it is www.affordingadoption.com Hope those help!

Hi Amanada! I have posted a link for a family that has done probably a half dozen garage sales with donations from their entire family - if you go back and read their blog you will see how they conducted those garage sales. It seems they have made over $5,000.00 from the garage sales to put towards their adoption. Even if you live in a rural area maybe you could talk to a business owner or church in the nearest town that would let you use their parking lot - you know somewhere where you would see more traffic...or maybe a family member in a more populated area could host the garage sale for you. Here is the link! Good luck!

Try bookcodex.com they let you set up a shopping web page for fundraising. On your page will be links to dozens of stores including Walmart, Office Depot and other well known stores. When people use your links you get a percentage of whatever they spend. There are also services like Netflix on there and if someone uses your link to sign up you get money for that too.

We did this to help fund our adoption and while it didn't generate a lot of money it did bring us some and was helpful. They send you a check either monthly or bi-monthly.

Hope this helps.

Hey there is a fundraising yahoo group as well. Dont' know the name of it but mention of it just popped up in a listserv. Incidentally, I know the links above run off the page. Just copy and paste it into a Word document - the whole thing will show up.

Hi there, we used Kingdom Kids, they send you info & you in turn send that out to everyone you know :) & then whoever wants send KK's money & KK's updates you with how much money was sent & who sent it, they give you 95% of what was sent in. It's also tax deductable which is great. We didn't have that many people give but I really like KK's. We tried grants but we were never granted any. This is the website; www.kingdomkidsadoption.org

Good luck! :)

Hey Amanda!

Thats sooooo crazy that you went to that petting zoo to!!!! Nicole loves it there and we really do have to drag her out everytime we go. Love the mountains there and I typically get droped off at the bottom of one and off I go then I emerge from the dark later that evening....LOVE IT!! I dunno if you checked out Nicole's journals on our site but that might be an idea or maybe you can send her an email and she will give you some ideas...
